The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Japan, Mr. Khaled Alameri visited Kanagawa Science Park on October 30. Mr. Khaled Alameri met Prof. Hirohisa Uchida, President and CEO of KSP, Inc., Mr. Takashi Kobayashi and Mr. Kiyosaku Ebina, Executive Directors of KSP, Inc..
Prof. Hirohisa Uchida made a presentation on the outline of KSP and explained about the background of Japan’s industrial development and the establishment of KSP, current state of investment, and university-industry-government collaboration in Japan..
Mr. Khaled Alameri showed high interest in KSP’s incubation system for start-up companies, and mentioned that “ We really value KSP ‘s educational programs that will inspire the younger generation in UAE.” We will cooperate UAE’s various visions for future.
President Uchida as Fellow and Vice President of International Association for Hydrogen Energy (IAHE) received an interview about back groundand actual state of hydrogen energy in Japan and the world from Korean Arirang TV. The contents of the interview can be seen with the following video.

Dr. Hirohisa Uchida, President of KSP, Inc. was invited to the 10th International Advisory Board Meeting of King Abdulaziz University (KAU) held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Jeddah in Saudi Arabia from 20th to 21st October.
Dr. Uchida, as an IAB member, made a speech and discussions on proposals of renewable and hydrogen energy systems for future of NEOM MEGA CITY as Innovative KAU.
Dr. Hirohisa Uchida was appointed Honorary President of Asian Science Park Association（ASPA） for his great contribution as President of ASPA from 2014 to 2018.
Dr. Uchida’s term as ASPA president came to an end at the 22nd ASPA Annual Conference 2018.
“Recent Movement in Life Innovation towards Industrialization”
Kanagawa – Baden Wurttemberg Seminar was held at Tonomachi King Sky Front Management Center, Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan on 10th October 2018 under the theme of “Recent Movement in Life Innovation towards Industrialization” with the aim of introducing recent initiatives in the field of life science in Japan and Germany and exchanging opinions.
In addition, Kanagawa Prefecture has signed MOU with Baden-Württemberg State in Germany and has built cooperative relations in the life science industry.
And also, Dr. Hirohisa Uchida of President KSP, Inc. is the representative of Japan for Baden-Württemberg State Government.
From Japan side, Mr. Kenichi Oki of Director of Life Sciences Innovation Healthcare New Frontier Promotion Headquarters Office Policy Bureau, Kanagawa Prefectural Government made a speech “ The Healthcare New Frontier policies of Kanagawa Prefecture ”. And then, Mr. Katsuhito Asai of CEO, Gene Therapy Research Institution Co.,Ltd and Mr. Kenichi Nogami, Co-CEO, Metcela Inc. introduced each company’s profile. Gene Therapy Research Institution Co.,Ltd and Metcela Inc. are tenants of KSP Biotech Lab in Life Innovation Center.
From Germany side, the speech was made by Mr. Axel Lohse of German Trade and Invest (GTAI) with the theme of “ HEALTH MADE IN GERMANY: supporting the creation of a strong German-Japanese network within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. ”.
And the speech was made by Dr. Rolf Schmid of former director at center for bioprocess engineering, Stuttgart university with the theme of “ BW’s R&D initiatives in pharmaceuticals and biotech including some initiatives for future interactions. ”.
The 22nd Asian Science Park Association (ASPA) Annual Conference 2018 was held in Vladivostok, Russia from 3rd October to 5th October, 2018. About 400 people gathered from Asian countries such as Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Turkey, in addition to Skolkovo and Far Eastern Federal University.
The conference theme was “Impact of global trends on the development of Asian STPs”.
Dr. Hirohisa Uchida of ASPA President (President and CEO of KSP, Inc.) made a speech at the opening ceremony and served a moderator for the main session.
And also, Mr. Kenichi Harada (Manager, Incubation and Investment Division) made a speech entitled “The New Role of STPs for Next Generation Industries in JAPAN” and Ms. Akiko Watanabe (Chief, Incubation and Investment Division) made a speech entitled “Writing for Training for Entrepreneurs by KSP” at the parallel session.
The Czech Business Delegation* led by Deputy Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited Kanagawa Science Park on June 8.
Dr. Hirohisa Uchida, President of KSP, Inc. welcomed the Czech Delegation’s visit and made a presentation introducing the Facility Outline of the Kanagawa Science Park and KSP’s Business Activities.
And Mr. Ken Matsui, CEO of Mira Inc. ( http://madebymira.com/ ) introduced the Business Summary and Technologies (Robotics and Software) of Mira in the Laboratory.

Mr. Peter Schupp, Managing Director, School of Management and Technology (SMT) of Steinbeis University (Germany) visited Kanagawa Science Park on April 2.
Steinbeis University is the Germany’s largest private university founded in 1998 by the Steinbeis Foundation. In this visit, we talked about our possible cooperation between Steinbeis University and KSP Inc. with much experience in fostering venture companies and entrepreneur education for many years.
